Peshawar Zalmi claimed their second Pakistan Super League title by defeating Hyderabad Kingsmen by five wickets in the final held in Lahore. Aaron Hardie made history by becoming the first player to take four wickets and score a fifty in a PSL final.

Hyderabad Kingsmen batted first but struggled, getting bowled out for 129 runs in 18 overs. Abdul Samad was their top scorer with 48 runs off 34 balls. In response, Peshawar Zalmi chased down the target of 130 runs in just 15.2 overs.

Aaron Hardie’s bowling figures were impressive, with 4 wickets for 27 runs. He also contributed with the bat, scoring an unbeaten half-century off 39 balls. Babar Azam, the captain of Peshawar Zalmi, unfortunately fell for a golden duck.

Babar Azam expressed pride in the win, stating, “It’s a very big achievement for me, for Peshawar Zalmi and all the fans.” Marnus Labuschagne reflected on his team’s journey, saying, “Tonight hurts, obviously, but reflecting on what an amazing tournament we’ve put together.” Aaron Hardie shared his gratitude: “I’m super grateful to be part of the Zalmi and get to know everyone.” He added, “It was just a great game of cricket.”

This victory marks Peshawar Zalmi’s first PSL title since 2017. The team rallied after facing early setbacks in the tournament, ultimately winning four consecutive matches to secure the championship.
