Wigmore is a son of Sweynesse and out of the More Than Ready mare Del Mondo. Previously trained by Caley Myers in New Zealand, he finished seventh in the Gr.3 Chairman’s Stakes at Morphettville before his Derby win.

Stokes has now achieved nine Group One wins, including two victories in the South Australian Derby. Wigmore was identified by bloodstock agent Phill Cataldo for OTI Racing, which sold 25 percent ownership to Terry Henderson.
