Repco Sprint Cup battle heads to Perth
The Repco Supercars Championship is set to arrive in Western Australia for the penultimate round of the Repco Sprint Cup. The event, known as the 2026 Bosch Power Tools Perth Super 440, will feature a revised format compared to earlier rounds. Following 500km events in Darwin and Townsville, the Perth round will revert to the Super 440 format.
The competition for the Repco Sprint Cup Finals continues to intensify. Matt Payne currently holds a 92-point lead over Broc Feeney. This lead was established after a significant 107-point swing in the previous round at Townsville, where Payne took the championship lead from Feeney. Other contenders, including Brodie Kostecki and Cam Waters, are also within 200 points of the championship leader.
Payne, a Penrite Racing driver, acknowledges the competitive nature of the Supercars field. He is aware that Triple Eight and Feeney, known for their performance history, could improve their standing at any time. Payne noted that the field is highly competitive, and even small errors can be costly.
The Perth track presents a distinct challenge compared to the street circuits of Townsville. Its 55-second lap time can penalise minor errors during qualifying. Additionally, the abrasive surface and long corners of the track can affect tyre longevity over race distances. The top four drivers, Payne, Feeney, Kostecki, and Waters, are separated by 195 points, highlighting the close competition.

On-track activities for the 2026 Bosch Power Tools Perth Super 440 are scheduled to commence on Friday, July 31. The event will span three days, concluding on Sunday, August 2.
Friday, July 31, will feature two practice sessions. Practice 1 is set for 5:00pm AEST/7:00pm NZST, followed by Practice 2 at 5:40pm AEST/7:40pm NZST. Broadcasts for Friday’s sessions will begin live from 2:15pm AEST on Foxtel and Kayo, and from 4:15pm NZST on Sky NZ. Superview will also provide live coverage starting at 2:15pm AEST.
Saturday, August 1, will include two 120km sprint races. Boost Mobile Qualifying for Race 23 will start at 11:45am AEST/1:45pm NZST, with qualifying for Race 24 at 12:35pm AEST/2:35pm NZST. Race 23 (120km, Soft tyre) is scheduled for 2:45pm AEST/4:45pm NZST, and Race 24 (120km, Super Soft tyre) will take place at 6:20pm AEST/8:20pm NZST. Broadcasts on Saturday will begin live from 10:25am AEST on Foxtel and Kayo, and from 12:25pm NZST on Sky NZ. Superview will also start its live coverage at 10:25am AEST. Highlights will be available on 7/7plus from 12:23am AEST on Sunday.
The event concludes on Sunday, August 2, with a longer 200km refuelling race. The day’s schedule includes Boost Mobile Qualifying for Race 25 at 1:00pm AEST/3:00pm NZST, followed by the Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootout for Race 25 at 1:45pm AEST/3:45pm NZST. Race 25 (200km, Soft tyre) is set to begin at 5:20pm AEST/7:20pm NZST. Live broadcasts on Sunday will start from 11:15am AEST on Foxtel and Kayo, and from 1:15pm NZST on Sky NZ. Superview will also commence live coverage at 11:15am AEST. Highlights will be shown on 7/7plus from 12:38am AEST on Monday.
